SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14 (2) OF
The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
(“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of Farnham Road (B3001) Elstead as extends from its junction with Camp Hill to Elstead Bridge
.
This Notice is required to enable
Surrey County Council to carry out
carriageway patching works to repair safety defects in the length of road described in this Notice
 
This Notice will commence on 14 April 2019
for a period of 5 days. However the works  are anticipated to be completed within 3 days  between the hours of  9.30am and 3 pm
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are
displayed.
 
Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists
emergency services will be maintained at all
times. Access for residents will be maintained when safe to do so, if necessary via the
diversion route.
In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under
section 3 of The Act access may only be r
estricted for a maximum of
8 hours in any 24 hour
period.
The prohibition referred to above will not apply:
-
a)
in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable
in uniform;
b)
in respect of anything done in accordance w
ith any restriction or requirement indicated
by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police;
c)
to any vehicle in connection with the works.
The alternative route for westbound traffic will be via B3001 Farnham Road/Milford Road, A3

in the opposite direction save that Link Road replaces Milford By

Pass.
